In the world of Bollywood, there are few film franchises as iconic and beloved as the "Tiger" series. Starring two of India's biggest superstars, Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, these espionage thrillers have consistently set the box office on fire and left audiences craving for more. "Tiger 3 Movie," the third installment in the series, promises to be a cinematic extravaganza that will not only continue the legacy but also take it to new heights.

The movie was a massive hit, not only for its action-packed sequences but also for the sizzling chemistry between the lead pair.
The sequel, "Tiger Zinda Hai" (2017), directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, continued the story of Tiger and Zoya as they undertook a daring rescue mission. The film was not only a critical success but also a box office juggernaut, cementing the "Tiger" franchise's place in Bollywood history.

Amul has a perfect topical for Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif's Jagga Jasoos
Tumblr media
Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif's Jagga Jasoos opened to mixed reviews yesterday. While the movie disappointed some critics and audience, it left a lasting impact on some people.
The movie, which was in the making for almost three years, is helmed by Anurag Basu and jointly produced by Disney India and Pictureshuru Productions.
Amidst the hype that the movie is creating, we got our hands on an image shared by Amul. In its latest topical, Amul has covered Jagga Jasoos. The photo features Ranbir Kapoor's caricature along with the Amul girl dressed as Katrina Kaif sitting on an ostrich while the tag line reads 'Har Jagga Khao' - 'The Blockbuster Butter'!

Amul tweeted the photo with a caption that read, "#Amul Topical: Comedy, romance, music, adventure & more!"
We are absolutely in love with this tropical. How about you?!
Jagga Jasoos despite opening to mixed reviews has fared decently well at the box office. The movie earned INR 8.57 crore on its first day of release. With these collections, the film has become the seventh best opener of 2017. And while it did beat the collections of Ranbir Kapoor's Bombay Velvet, it failed to race ahead Kapoor's other films like Tamasha, Besharam and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.
Meanwhile, on the work front now, Ranbir Kapoor is headed to New York to shoot for the Sanjay Dutt biopic with Anushka Sharma and Rajkumar Hirani. RK would be shooting the drug addiction scene in NYC soon. Katrina Kaif too is in NYC currently, for the ongoing IIFA awards. The actress will then head to Morocco for the shoot of Tiger Zinda Hai with Salman Khan. The film releases on Christmas 2017.

The first-day collection of War, when it opened on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on October 2, makes it the biggest all-time holiday opener for a Hindi film, surpassing the day one collection of the Diwali 2018 release, Thugs Of Hindostan. The Amitabh Bachchan-Aamir Khan-Katrina Kaif starrer had earned Rs 52.25 crore on release last year.

“It is an incredible response to our hard work and I’m truly grateful to the audience for loving our film. When we decided to make War, we were clear that we were attempting to do something that has never been done in Indian cinema and we went all out to make it happen. So, it’s hugely validating to see the fantastic response of the people enjoying our action entertainer in the theatres. As an actor, you live and thrive for such moments and I’m truly blessed that our film is getting such overwhelming love. I congratulate my partner in crime Tiger, my director Sid, YRF for its belief and the incredible effort to make this film spectacular, Vaani and everyone associated with this film at this incredible moment. The entire team worked really really hard on War and it’s amazing to see this kind of euphoria around our movie,” Hrithik said on Thursday.

I have no words to describe what I’m feeling right now except that I feel blessed to be getting this love and appreciation from people. I have always wanted my films to be out and out entertainers, films that make people happy in theatres and I’m glad that ‘War’ has become that film,” said Tiger.
“I feel blessed to have this opportunity to work side by side with Hrithik who has been my hero and idol. Just this opportunity is a victory in itself for me. 1. Biggest opening in the history of Hindi cinema

2. Biggest opening for Hrithik:
His last big opener was also with Siddharth Anand. Bang Bang collected Rs 27 crore on day 1 in 2014.
3. Biggest Opening for Tiger:
Tiger’s last big opener was Ahmed Khan’s Baaghi 2. It opened to Rs 25 crore collection on day 1.

Race-3: Will Salman Khan's Movie Make 150 Crore In A Week?
New Delhi: Salman Khan's Race 3 continues to perform well at the box office. It is expected to cross the 150 crore-mark by the end of first week. On wednesday, the film earned Rs. 9.25 crore, making the grand total to Rs. 142.01 as per the reports of business analyst and Censor Board advisory member Atul Mohan. The film earned rs 100 crore within 3 days. Atul Mohan tweeted, "Race mints Rs. 9.25 crore on Day 6, which was a working Wednesday. In just 6 days, the film has collected a total of Rs. 142.01 crore, looking to cross 150 within a week."
Race 3 have continued to do well at the box office. But a drop in collection was seen on Tuesday (Rs. 12.05 crore), but Wednesday witnessed a "normal weekday drop," Box Office India reported.
The film made 77 crore over the weekend. This is Salman's fourth entry to make it to 100 crore club within three days. Other films to feature on the list include, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai.
Race 3 ranks second on the list also made to the top five opening weekend list of 2018 while Deepika Padukone's "Padmaavat"is the chart topper.
Saibal Chatterjee, in his film review for NDTV said, "Directed by Remo D'Souza, Race 3 is a dance of dunces that hits a convoluted track from the moment it kicks off. The game has too many players and not enough rules to keep them sane. It is about the family of an unscrupulous global arms dealer, Shamsher Singh (Anil Kapoor). They embark on a mission to rob a hard disk from the high-security vault of a Cambodian bank with the intention of blackmailing Indian politicians caught in a prostitution ring."

★ Why Salman Khan's Dabangg 3 is for fans, not critics!
December 18, 2019
Tumblr media
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan chats with City Times about what fans can expect from his latest film, how he handles criticism and why he enjoys such a mass appeal
For years, his success has defied all odds. Naysayers may question it, but if you happen to be a die-hard Salman Khan fan (is there any other type?), you need no validation. That's the aura of Salman Khan.
When we met the Bollywood superstar in November for his Dabangg: The Tour Reloaded show in Dubai, the actor told us something that probably explains his widespread success in an industry which is fickle when it comes to placing actors on a pedestal.
"We can make the best movies ever but if they (fans) may not like it, then there's no point - it is a bad movie at that point. No matter what the critics say, if you make a bad film, and fans like it then it is the best film ever!" he explained.
That sentiment, is key to understanding the phenomenon called Salman Khan. Having debuted as lead in Sooraj Barjatya's romantic family drama Maine Pyar Kiya in 1989, Khan may have taken time to find his comfort zone in blockbuster action films, but once he found it, he has stayed put. He is not known to experiment much with genres or try his hand at roles, outside his comfort zone. "I'm not looking for awards," he told us, "only rewards, when fans leave the theatre fulfilled."
Over the years, it has only been proved over and over again, that where Salman Khan puts his money, that is where the money flows. Be it Ready, Ek Tha Tiger, Kick, Sultan, Bajrangi Baijhan or his last release Bharat, there is a certain formula that Khan is adept at handling and averse to straying from.
When it comes to a Salman Khan movie, fans don't go to the cinema to watch a character, but rather to gawk at the superstar shining through his on-screen persona.
Back with a bang
The Dabangg movies have minted money for the makers ever since the first one was released in 2010 and introduced us to the swashbuckling, quirky Inspector Chulbul Pandey. Two years later, Khan was back with Dabangg 2, which made more noise at the box office. Seven years and umpteen movies later, the hit-making machine is back with Dabangg 3, with his ever supportive leading lady Sonakshi Sinha, and the added attraction of debutant Saiee Manjrekar (filmmaker/actor Mahesh Majrekar's daughter).
Now Khan, of course, has a reputation for introducing the maximum number of new faces to the industry - be it his Dabangg lead star Sonakshi Sinha, Daisy Shah, Zareen Khan or Sneha Ullal among many others.
The actor admitted to us that it is "very scary" to launch new faces. He confessed that there is the pressure of ensuring "so many new faces should be known faces and recognised and have the longest career..."
But at the same time he stated confidently that, "I have no fear where Saiee (Manjrekar) is concerned or Sonakshi from her first movie to now." "And we are there all the time. For all the people we have launched. in some form or the other...
"We'd never leave the people who we have introduced. Like the way Sooraj Barjatya's has never left me," he continued. Keeping it fresh
Just like its predecessors, Dabangg 3 has all the ingredients for a typical masala movie - item number, catchy dialogues, a Southern Nemesis in the form of Kichcha Sudeep and of course, Salman Khan. Does Khan ever get bored of doing the same old thing again? Not if you go by his career track. During the concert when we asked him how he keeps his energy levels constantly high, his response was insightful and probably applicable to his approach to movies in a career spanning over 30 odd years. "When your hobby turns into your profession, you have all the enthusiasm for it."
Excerpts from a conversation with Salman Khan over the phone ahead of the release of Dabangg 3 in UAE theatres on Thursday, December 19.
Why did you feel the need to come out with Dabangg 3? Was it the success of the franchise, the demand from your fans or did you just get attached to Chulbul Pandey?
When both the films have done so well, why would I not make a sequel? (laughs) Both films had done well and there was a huge demand by the time with people asking; 'When is Dabangg coming?' 'When is Dabangg coming?' We already had the script in mind like how we made Dabangg. But I was stuck with Tiger Zinda Hai and Bharat and some other films which released, so I couldn't give Dabangg time earlier. As soon as I got a window I did Dabangg 3. Dabangg 3 seems to be a masala entertainer much like the first two movies. What is this one's USP though?
It is a lot bigger, a lot larger. Chulbul is more mature, he is more dignified . he is full of quirks, sharing all the right things; he's just a lot larger than what he used to be.
And it is not just a masala movie - its got more hues, it is about good and bad, about nobility, about family values; what's the situation in some people's lives. It deals with dowry, it deals with positivity against negativity...
It deals with a lot of these things - kidnapping, prostitution... The first movie had (handled the theme of) polio; the second one had LIC Policy... You have a unique dancing style. And you make your 'Item Boy' debut with Munna Badnam Hua in this film. Do you enjoy dancing?
(Pause) Yeah, at times, especially when you are getting praised for it and you are getting appreciated for it, I love it!
You enjoy enormous mass appeal, and you can do no wrong in the eyes of your fans. To what do you attribute this appeal?
I attribute this to the eyes of my fans. And then to me! Because they see it that he (Salman) is not doing any wrong. How do you respond to critics? Do you read reviews once your films come out?
Critics? I don't react to them at all. They write good or bad, I don't react. I have just done my hard work, that too, to the best of my ability. If they appreciate it, great. And if they think it is not up to the mark, that's fine. As long as my fans go watch the films, people go enjoy the films, and like it and the numbers are good, I'm fine. My critic is the box office. If my fans don't want to go see my film, then they are my critics. I'm making these movies for them (fans) not for these critics. What can audience expect from newbie Saiee Manjrekar who is making her Bollywood debut with Dabangg 3?
The audience can expect a very big star from her. The industry will have a new A-grade, very talented leading lady. What about Sonakshi Sinha? How do you rate her considering you have acted together in all the Dabangg movies?
When we first saw her for Dabangg she was very talented even then. She has grown ten fold (since then). What kind of actor are you on sets? Are you a director's actor or do you like to improvise?
I improvise but depending on the director. I will not change anything just for the heck of changing it. Like if I feel a fight scene could go wrong, then I would give an alternative to that scene. How do you plan to celebrate the success of Dabangg 3?
I'm just going to spend time at home. There is a newborn (probably referencing sister Arpita's new baby) coming to the house... And I'd thank God.

Race 3 movie review: Salman Khan-Jacqueline Fernandez’s thriller gets a thumbs down from the critics
Salman Khan’s Race 3 opened to much fanfare in theatres today. The movie also stars Jacqueline Fernandez, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Saqib Saleem, Daisy Shah and Freddy Daruwalla. It has been directed by Remo D’Souza. Expectations were sky high because the first two movies in the Race franchise are so popular. And with a cast and story reboot, there was all the more pressure to live up to the benchmark. But seems like Race has missed the mark, as majority of the critics have talked about their disappointment with the film.
That being said, Race 3 never intended to be a critics pleaser. It is a movie for the masses – who are most definitely going to love it. Just see it minting money at the box office in the coming few days. It is certainly delivering the entertainment that Salman Khan fans expect of him. Critics can rewatch Citizen Kane.
Hindustan Times was terribly disappointed by the movie. They wrote, “Gloss and glam are expected to mask an appalling film, but it’s really difficult to sit through 160-minutes of terribly bad filmmaking. Even Tom Struthers’ (Tiger Zinda Hai, Dunkirk) action choreography is dull. As for the rest of the cast is concerned, I feel for Bobby Deol and Jacqueline Fernandez. Race 3 is a mere show-reel for Salman Khan fans. Celebrating Eid at home is likely to entertain you more.”
Something very similar has been observed by Gulf News. As they wrote, “But swagger and stylish stunts cannot compensate for a terrible storyline” and “While the action sequences, spearheaded by Hollywood stunt legend Tom Stuthers, is visually compelling and might appease the motor-head soul in you, the story fails to ignite any emotion in the viewer”.
Even Times of India noted the exact same thing. Though they do think the action sequences were the saving grace. “What redeems the tissue-thin plot is the larger-than-life action sequences. You have it all – car crashes, explosions, combats, cat-fights and wingsuit diving stunts. Yes, there’s lot of smoke and fire, but no real steam – in the story or the performances.” Scroll thought the movie was so bad that it made the first two movies look good. “Compared to the third of the Race movies, the first two productions, directed by the brothers and featuring a cast led by a slinky and highly effective Saif Ali Khan, come off as superbly plotted and sophisticated thrillers,” they wrote.
Showsha.com wrote, “Race 3 is a funny, kitschy and audacious film. In between the action shots (clearly where most of the money has been spent, after bhai), the film tends to make you go “what the hell just happened” more times than you can count”
And upping the brutality for this roundup is Live Mint. They wrote, “Indeed, neither science nor intelligence make it to the starting block of Race 3.”

Raazi Review – Bollywood Hungama
In the past few years, Bollywood has churned out some very exciting spy films like AGENT VINOD [2012], PHANTOM [2015], BABY [2015], BANG BANG [2014], EK THA TIGER [2012], TIGER ZINDA HAI [2017], D-DAY [2013] etc. Most of these films also had the role of a female spy who looked like she meant business and would easily kick ass. Katrina Kaif’s portrayal in the TIGER series is the most apt example. But imagine a spy who’s completely feminine replete with long, flowy hair and salwar kurtas et al. Anil Sharma did slightly touch upon this aspect in 2003 with his biggie THE HERO: LOVE STORY OF A SPY. Now Meghna Gulzar attempts to make a complete film on this aspect with RAAZI. So does it manage to engross viewers like the other spy films? Or does it fail in its endeavour? Let’s analyse.
RAAZI is the story of a young girl from India sent to Pakistan as an undercover agent. The year is 1971. Pakistan is all set to make a surprise attack on India and the Indian intelligence is trying it’s best to get the details. Hidayat (Rajit Kapur) lives in Srinagar and travels to Pakistan for business. He is a part of the Indian intelligence but has convinced Pakistani Brigadier Syed (Shishir Sharma) that he works for them. Hidayat is terminally ill and he asks Syed if he can get his daughter Sehmat (Alia Bhatt) married to Syed’s younger son Iqbal (Vicky Kaushal). Syed agrees and surprisingly, Sehmat also gives her nod. Sehmat is obviously being married to Iqbal to spy in the house of Syeds and she gets adequate training from Khalid Mir (Jaideep Ahlawat) from Indian intelligence. Sehmat gets married and she gradually gets attached to Iqbal, who gives her the space and doesn’t force himself on her. Meanwhile Sehmat begins her surveillance and finds out crucial information regarding naval attacks planned by Pakistan against India. However the challenges faced by Sehmat are immense and one wrong move can prove fatal for her. What happens next forms the rest of the story.
RAAZI is based on Harinder S Sikka’s novel ‘Calling Sehmat’. The story is novel and stands out from the rest of the spy films as the lead character goes to any lengths, morals be damned. And this bit comes across very nicely. Bhavani Iyer and Meghna Gulzar’s screenplay is a mixed bag. In most scenes, it’s simplistic and engrossing.
RAAZI doesn’t commence on a high note but grips viewers well. The characters are well established and Sehmat agreeing for the dangerous mission could have come across as not so believable. But thankfully that doesn’t happen. Her training sequence is interesting but the film gets better once she moves to Pakistan. Though the film drops for a while, it picks up brilliantly in the intermission point when Sehmat drives the jeep. Arguably it’s the best part of the film. Post interval, the film has some engaging moments but at the same time, the film begins to slow down. There should have been a more gripping cat and mouse chase game but that never really happens. The manner in which Sehmat is able to escape suspicion most of the times is very unconvincing. The finale however makes up for the minuses to an extent. Some of the scenes however gets complicated. For instance, some of the details provided by Khalid during Sehmat’s training is difficult to process as it is presented too quickly. Also the interest drops in some scenes. Meghna Gulzar’s dialogues are simple and neat and are very craftily written. Meghna Gulzar’s direction is impressive. Despite the content being niche, she tries to tell the story in a commercial format. She does falter at places but overall, manages to do justice to the plot.
Alia Bhatt delivers a powerhouse performance and this is surely one of her most accomplished works. Her character is living a double life and she brings out this aspect very nicely. In the emotional and breakdown sequences, she shines! Vicky Kaushal has a limited screen time but he leaves a mark. His character is sure to be loved. Rajit Kapur is quite endearing. Jaideep Ahlawat is very good. This talented actor deserves to be seen more in movies. Shishir Sharma is quite dependable. Notice how endearing he looks when he’s interacting with Sehmat but transforms in another avatar altogether when he’s talking business. Amruta Khanvilkar (Munira) is lovely. Arif Zakaria (Abdul) plays a dynamic role with panache. Ashwath Bhatt (Mehboob) has a small role but is effective. Soni Razdan (Teji) is okay. Other actors do a good job.
Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy’s music is melodious but won’t be remembered, except for ‘Ae Watan’. The song has an anthem like feel and can get a longer shelf life if it’s played during Independence and Republic Day celebrations in the country. The title track gets noticed while ‘Dilbaro’ is completely relegated to the background.
Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and Tubby’s background score is quite exhilarating. Jay I Patel’s cinematography works big time. The exterior shots of Kashmir are simply breathtaking. Nitin Baid’s editing is nice but should have been more razor sharp. Subrata Chakraborty and Amit Ray’s production design is very authentic. Maxima Basu Golani’s costumes are appealing. Harpal Singh’s action is subtle and not very detailed.
On the whole, RAAZI is an interesting thriller brilliantly narrated by Meghna Gulzar that makes for mature viewing. It is a film that celebrates nationalism that is devoid of the colors of religion. At the box office, it has the potential to grow with positive word of mouth and keep its makers happy.
